Superintendent, The New Standard Academy

Dear New Standard Academy Families,

As summer continues to roll on, I would like to personally thank each of you for your continued partnership, trust, and commitment to The New Standard Academy. We are grateful for the opportunity to serve your family and wish each of you a safe, healthy, and enjoyable vacation.

While summer is a time to relax, explore, and make lasting memories, it is also an important time to continue learning. One of the greatest gifts you can give your child over the break is the habit of reading every day. Research consistently shows that students who read throughout the summer return to school better prepared and more confident. We encourage every student to read for at least 20–30 minutes each day, whether it's books, magazines, or educational articles that spark their interests.

We also encourage families to be mindful of screen time. While technology certainly has its place, balancing screen use with reading, outdoor play, family activities, and real-world experiences helps children continue developing academically, socially, and emotionally.

Summer is the perfect opportunity to explore parks, museums, libraries, community events, and meaningful family conversations.

As we prepare for an exciting new school year, I am pleased to share that The New Standard Academy has welcomed two outstanding educational leaders to our administrative team. Ms. Audrey Medlin will serve as Principal for Kindergarten through 6th Grade and Mr. Kyle Kirby will serve as Principal for 7th through 12th Grade. Both Ms. Medlin and Mr. Kirby bring extensive backgrounds in education, instructional leadership, and student achievement. Their experience and passion for children will strengthen the outstanding work already taking place throughout our academy.

Although we are growing and adding new leadership, one thing remains unchanged, our identity and our mission. We will continue to be a school family that believes every child deserves excellence. We remain committed to high expectations, meaningful relationships, academic achievement, and providing our students with rare and unique learning opportunities both inside and outside the classroom. Our commitment to preparing students for college, careers, and life has not changed and never will.

The New Standard Academy is currently enrolling new students for the upcoming school year, and we look forward to welcoming new families into our school community. If you know

someone searching for an exceptional educational experience, encourage them to contact our office or visit us to learn more about what makes The New Standard Academy special.

Thank you again for being an important part of our school family. We appreciate your continued support and partnership as we work together to ensure every student succeeds.

Have a wonderful, safe, and relaxing summer. We look forward to seeing everyone back this fall for what promises to be an incredible school year!

Cheers,

Correy Black, MPH, ES
