The Principal's Corner - March 18, 2025

With Correy Black

Principal, The New Standard Academy

Dear Parents,

At The New Standard Academy we understand the magnitude of our mission—changing lives and shaping futures. Our educational team is dynamic, dedicated, and unwavering in their commitment to our students and families. We go beyond the call of duty, making sacrifices because we know the impact of our work extends far beyond the classroom. Our goal is not just to educate but to support, uplift, and empower both our students and parents in every way possible.

As we move through March, we are thrilled to celebrate Reading Month in full force! Our hallways have been transformed into vibrant storybook wonderlands, immersing our students in the joy of literature. The excitement is contagious as students and staff alike embrace the magic of storytelling, dressing up as their favorite book characters and diving deep into the world of reading. It is a joy to witness their enthusiasm and growth as they discover new adventures through books!

Beyond literacy, we continue to open doors to new experiences for our students. Our robotics team recently achieved a phenomenal victory at the Kettering competition! Their dedication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills were on full display, proving that when given the right opportunities, our students can compete and excel on a grand scale. We remain committed to providing exposure to STEM and other fields that will prepare our students for the future.

We are also incredibly proud of our district and regional championship basketball program! Our student-athletes have demonstrated perseverance, discipline, and excellence both on and off the court. Their achievements serve as a testament to the culture of hard work and determination that we instill in our students across all areas—academics, athletics, and beyond.

Every day, we strive to provide solutions, opportunities, and pathways to success for our students. We thank you for your continued support and partnership in this mission. Together, we will continue to create a future where our students thrive in every endeavor they pursue.
